What are the different bands?

We have developed four bands which are:

Band A

Urgent housing need, for example those who are assessed as priority homeless, whose current property is subject to demolition, or those who have an urgent medical need.

Band B

Significant housing need, for example those ready to ‘move on’ from supported housing, people who are severely overcrowded or are suffering domestic violence.

Band C

General housing need, for example those with a single housing need such as non-urgent medical needs, overcrowding.

Band D

No identified housing need and wish to move for general reasons or have been demoted for unacceptable behaviour.

What if I’m not happy with my banding

You can ask us to review the band you are in by contacting the Under One Roof team on 01744 63 63 63. You will need to tell us why you think that your banding is wrong and you will need to provide supporting evidence to back up what you are saying. We will look at your application again and write to you with a decision within 10 working days.

What if my band is re-assessed?

If you provide further information for your banding to be reassessed and you are successful in being awarded a higher band, then you should be aware that your date of registration will  change to the date on which your band increased.
